How On-Device PII Redaction & Data Masking Works

Private PII Redactor & Anonymizer runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. There is no sign-up, and whatever you type or open here is processed on your device instead of being sent to a server.

Redact Sensitive Personal Identifiers Completely On-Device

Scrub personal identifiable information (PII) from support tickets, log files, customer chats, and legal transcripts directly in your browser. By executing redaction patterns in local memory, sensitive personal records never traverse external networks or risk cloud exposure.

Pattern Matching for Emails, Phones, Cards, IPs and SSNs

The pattern matcher finds email addresses, phone numbers, credit cards, US Social Security numbers and IPv4/IPv6 addresses, and leaves a four-part number alone when it follows a word such as version, build or firmware. Pattern matching finds common formats but can miss unusual ones, such as phone numbers written in words or card numbers split across lines, so read the result before you share it.

Text and CSV Anonymization with Safe File Export

Paste raw text or upload CSV files for instant on-device scrubbing. Download the redacted file with its original extension (e.g. clients_redacted.csv), and read it through before you share it. Files must be plain text (.txt, .csv, .json, .log or .md); PDF and Word documents cannot be opened, so copy their text in instead.

Why processing in your browser matters

Many online tools upload your files or text to a server to process them. This one does the work on your computer or phone, so your data is not sent to us or stored anywhere else. That lowers the risk when you work with confidential material, although you should still follow your organisation's own rules. Read how this works in our Privacy Policy.

  • No uploads: files are opened and saved on your device, so there is no upload or download wait.
  • No account: nothing to sign up for or install.
  • Free to use: no subscriptions or paywalls.
