How Client-Side Meeting Cost Tracking Works

Real-Time Meeting Cost Ticker runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. There is no sign-up, and whatever you type or open here is processed on your device instead of being sent to a server.

Track the Real Financial Cost of Business Meetings

Calculate the cumulative financial cost of team meetings as seconds tick by, based on participant headcount and average hourly salaries. Running 100% on-device in browser memory, keeping your executive attendance rosters and payroll rates completely confidential. Everyone is counted at the same average rate, and the ticker counts only the pay you enter; use a fully loaded hourly rate if you want employer taxes and benefits included.

Dynamic Mid-Meeting Attendee Adjustments

If team members join late or leave early, the ticker recalculates future elapsed cost without retroactively altering the cost of minutes already accrued, keeping cumulative tallies accurate.

Visual Awareness for Meeting Efficiency

Display the live ticker on screen during internal calls to keep discussions focused and encourage concise, action-oriented company meetings.

Worked Example and the Fully Loaded Cost of a Meeting

Eight people paid an average of $50 an hour cost $400 an hour together, about $6.67 a minute, so a 45-minute meeting costs $300. If you know salaries rather than hourly pay, choose 'per year': the ticker divides by 2,080 working hours (40 hours x 52 weeks), so $104,000 a year counts as $50 an hour. The figure covers pay only. Employers also pay for benefits, payroll taxes, equipment and office space, so the fully loaded cost of a meeting is higher; if your finance department uses a loaded hourly rate, enter that instead. The ticker also leaves out the time people need afterwards to get back into focused work.

Why processing in your browser matters

Many online tools upload your files or text to a server to process them. This one does the work on your computer or phone, so your data is not sent to us or stored anywhere else. That lowers the risk when you work with confidential material, although you should still follow your organisation's own rules. Read how this works in our Privacy Policy.

  • No uploads: files are opened and saved on your device, so there is no upload or download wait.
  • No account: nothing to sign up for or install.
  • Free to use: no subscriptions or paywalls.
