🔒 In short
The tools on this site run in your browser. Documents, code, images, dates of birth, financial figures and CVs that you use in a tool are processed on your device and are not sent to us or stored on any server.
For a technical breakdown of our in-browser architecture and instructions on how to check in your browser's DevTools that nothing is uploaded, see our How It Works guide.
1. What the tools do with your data
Every tool works with JavaScript inside your browser tab. For example:
- PDF tools such as the PDF Merger, PDF Splitter and PDF Signature read and create files in your browser with client-side libraries.
- The CV Suite keeps your details in the open page only; closing or reloading the tab clears them.
- The Invoice Generator creates the PDF, including any logo you add, in your browser.
- The PII Redactor and developer tools such as the JSON Formatter never send your text anywhere.
Files you download are created in your browser and saved directly to your device. Processing occurs in active browser memory (RAM) and is discarded when the tab is closed. Read the full technical explanation in How It Works.
2. Information our web host records
Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) records standard server logs when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs are used to deliver the site and keep it secure. They are kept by the host under its own retention rules, and we do not use them to identify visitors. The logs never contain the files or text you use in a tool, because those are not sent to the server.
3. Cookies and local storage
The site sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's localStorage for three conveniences: your light/dark theme choice, your best score in the 2048 game and your best time in the reaction test. This data stays in your browser and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. See the Cookie Policy.
4. Other websites
The pages load no scripts, fonts or images from other websites; the site's security policy blocks such requests.
5. Advertising and analytics
This site does not currently show ads or use analytics. If we add Google AdSense in future, this policy will be updated before any ads appear, and visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
6. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
7. Your rights
Because the tools do not collect personal data, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For questions about server logs, or to exercise your rights under data protection law (such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR), contact us at support@digitalfreetools.com. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Who runs this site
DigitalFreeTools is an independent website run by an individual. Contact: support@digitalfreetools.com.
9. Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, for example if ads are added, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
