How Client-Side Secure Password Generation Works

Secure Random Password Generator runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. There is no sign-up, and whatever you type or open here is processed on your device instead of being sent to a server.

Generate Strong Passwords with Your Browser's Secure Random Generator

Create high-entropy random passwords using your browser's native Web Cryptography API (crypto.getRandomValues). Because password generation runs 100% on-device in browser memory, generated passwords are never sent to or stored on a server.

Full Control Over Character Sets and Ambiguity

Customize password lengths from 8 to 64 characters. Toggle uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Ambiguous characters (I, O, l, 0 and 1) are always left out, so generated passwords are easier to read and type accurately. Symbols come from a fixed set (! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + [ ] { }). If a site rejects one of them, untick Symbols and choose a longer length instead.

Real-Time Password Strength and Entropy Rating

The strength meter estimates a password's entropy in bits (length ร— log2 of the number of possible characters): about 100 bits for 16 characters from all four sets. It rates the result Weak, Fair, Strong (64+ bits) or Very strong (80+ bits).

Why processing in your browser matters

Many online tools upload your files or text to a server to process them. This one does the work on your computer or phone, so your data is not sent to us or stored anywhere else. That lowers the risk when you work with confidential material, although you should still follow your organisation's own rules. Read how this works in our Privacy Policy.

  • No uploads: files are opened and saved on your device, so there is no upload or download wait.
  • No account: nothing to sign up for or install.
  • Free to use: no subscriptions or paywalls.
